Subject: Mary Griffen Munsell family history...from g.g. granddaughter
Hello Nancy,
I have been working on my families genealogy and think I can help with the Mary Griffen lineage.
I am "Mary Elizabeth Griffen Butler Munsell's" great, great Granddaughter. See Mary's first marriage was to my great, great grandfather, William A. Butler and it produced my great-grandfather, Oscar Leroy Butler. They were divorced and Mary married Lewis B. Munsell (b. Oct 1848)...they had 3 children Earl Lewis Munsell (died in his mid-20s), Walter E. Munsell (b. Sept. 13, 1899 and d. Mar 1980), and Leslie Munsell (died as a baby).
Mary was born on May 26, 1859 in West Stockbridge, MA and her parents names were PHIL C. Griffen and Almura E. Gould. Mary died in Apr 5, 1939.
I should have more info. down the road as I have personally met one of Walter E. Munsell's sons, Richard Munsell.
Look forward to hearing of any information you might be able to share with me too.

I am pleased to report that Bil Munsil has helped Jill to get in touch with one of her Munsell relatives. Hopefully they are making progress on this line!
I stand corrected. Jill tells me that no one has been in touch with her yet. If anyone has information on the Mary Griffen Munsell line, please contact me here or via e-mail.
