Obituary for Carl Dean Munsell, Sr.

Carl Dean Munsell, Sr.

Carl Dean Munsell, Sr. went home to be with his beloved Mildred on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. He was born July 28, 1926 in Cunningham, Kentucky. He served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal and was a P.O.W. of WWII. Carl married Mildred Hardten on May 19, 1946 in Grantville, Ks. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2005. Survivors include his son, Charles D. Munsell (Kelli) of Topeka; eight grandchildren, the 4 Ts, Travis, Trent, Tori, and Tyler, and Loudean, James, Connie, and Evelyn; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Dean Munsell, Jr. in 2006, his daughter, Connie Lea Munsell in 1971, and a grandson, Kevin Dean Munsell in 2005. He loved his family, his country, his flag, and the freedom he fought for. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment with military honors will be at Topeka Cemetery.
